SIZE AND SPECIALIZATION OF DAIRY CATTLE FARMS

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine the impact the economic size of dairy cattle farms on the effects of their development and propose rational solutions for improvement in the S outh Central Planning in a market economy and European integration. The object of study, dairycattle farms taking into account their production and regional particularities. Subject of study are the status and prospects of holding so in dairy cattle breeding in the regional aspect in the new European integration policy of Bulgaria. The assessment of conditions for development of dairy cattle farm and the determination of the their optimal size is carried out through the method “distance of the standard”. The study was performed based on empirical data from survey for the period 2005-2007 in South-Central Region in Bulagaria.
