SCIENTIFIC CHRONICLE ON THE MECHANIZATION OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY IN BULGARIA (FOR THE PERIOD 19522012)

Abstract: The current research is dedicated to “Animal Husbandry Mechanization” scientific department of the Research Institute for Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture (RIMEA) in Sofia. That research represents a short historical retrospection of the department and shows in chronicle sequence the main events of its 60-years history – since its establishment in 1952 till it’s closing down in 2012. The prerequisites for it creation and the basic stages of it scientific development and affirmation are analyzed. In chronicle order they have been tracked the most significant scientific and applied projects, technologies, machines and equipment. Some results of the department’s participation in national and international scientific cooperation are mentioned. Also the contributions of the department to the development of mechanization of the Bulgarian animal husbandry as well as the received awards for high-level of the scientific achievements are mentioned. And an attention is paid to the publicistic and pedagogic activity. They are presented the department’s leaders and leading scientists as well as the department’s participation in leading of RIMEA
and in some state and international institutions.
