COMPARATIVE STUDY IN SHEEP PRODUCTIVITY OF SYNTHETIC POPULATION BULGARIAN MILK AND THEIR CROSSES WITH AWASSI BREED
T. Ivanova, E. Raicheva, V. Tsvetkova
Abstract: The aim of the investigation is a comparative study of the milk production in sheep of Synthetic population Bulgarian milk and their crosses with Awassi breed. The experiment was conducted for “injection of blood” from breed Awassi with 40 ewe’s number of first lactation equalled in number of lactation, milk yield and genealogical line. Object of investigation of this study were 20 ewes number in the first lactation – pure breed from Synthetic population Bulgarian milk (10 numbers) and crosses with Awassi breed (10 numbers) raised in the experimental base of IAS - Kostinbrod. The test day milk was determined by the AC method of ICAR. The suckling milk production, standard 120 daily dairy milk productions, dairy and lactation milk production and biological fertility were controlled. The lengths of suckling, dairy and lactation periods were registered. The udder type was determined according to the teats position on the basis of the grade from 1 to 5. The percentage of fat, protein, solid non-fat and total solids were measured in individual milk samples with milk analysers Ekomilk, Bulteh. The information was calculated by the methods of variation statistics using a computer program EXCEL, 2003. The obtained results not showed significant effect of “injection of blood” from Awassi breed on milk production and duration of the different periods of lactation. There was higher milk yield of the third milking control of pure breed sheep (0.782 l), which significantly exceed that of the crosses (0.615 l) (P <0.01). The percent fat of the first control in the crosses (6.54%) was significantly higher (P <0.05) to pure breed sheep (5.70%).
