A STUDY ON THE LIVE WEIGHT AND FERTILITY OF THE SHEEP OF SYNTHETIC POPULATION BULGARIAN MILK

Abstract: The purpose of investigation was to analyze the information for live weight and fertility of the sheep of Synthetic population Bulgarian milk. The experiment has been carried out in the Institute of agriculture with 397 ewes during the period of2002 - 2005. The traits live weight (at weaning, at 18 months, 2.5 and 3.5 years) and the fertility from the first to fourth lambing were studied. It was found that sheep were with optimum live weight. It was 23.52 kg at weaning, 55.98 kg at 18 months of age, 62.43 kg at 2.5 years and 64.35 kg at 3.5 years. The fertility was satisfactory, like ewes born 2003 and 2004 year were feature. The dam age influence the number of born lambs.
