BIOCHEMICAL AND PRODUCTION TRAITS IN AQUACULTURE FRESHWATER FISH I. A STUDY ON THE PRODUCTIVITY AND CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF THE FARM FISH SPECIES
Liliana Hadjinikolova
Abstract: The objective of this complex research was to study the dynamics in the changes of the quantitative and qualitative parameters of the basic productive and biochemical traits of some farm freshwater fish species which are object of the aquaculture. The results will be presented in a succession of papers.
The accent in the first part of the research was directed to the productivity and chemical composition of the carp of different origin of the breed and to the chemical content of the fish of different sex and stage of individual development of their organism. Some differences were obsereved in the productive and biochemical characteristics of the studied breed groups and hybrids of the carp of different scale type. Differences in the biochemical content of the carp, big head and pike during the different stages of their individual development with visible tendency for an increase in the relative share of fat and decrease in the protein from the spawn to small fish and the muscle tissue were proved. Some dependencies in the protein and fat content in the muscle tissue and the spawn were revealed.
