Mentha spicata и Salvia officinalis L. in compound feed for poultry
Mariya Todorova
Abstract: Phytoadditives – herbs (whole plants or their parts) and their extracts and essential oils have been known for millennia for their beneficial properties. To this day, they are used for the treatment and prevention of diseases, as well as for extending the shelf life of food products. The complex of their useful properties - antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, increases the interest in researching the possibilities of their use in animal husbandry in order to improve the health, welfare and productivity of farm animals. The purpose of this review material is to examine the composition, properties and possible benefits of the application of widely distributed, but poorly researched in our country, herbs Mentha spicata and Salvia officinalis L., as additives in poultry feed.
