Margarit Iliev
Abstract: In order to characterize the productivity of sheep in Karnobat local breed and to establish the relationship between signs was examined in animals born during the period 2004 - 2008 year. Controlled were the main productive traits of 1131 animals /live weight at weaning at 90 days, 1.5 and 2.5 years, fertility, milk yield, wool productivity, length and fineness of wool/. It was found that sheep Karnobatska local breed is good for the local breed of live weight. Weight at weaning was 20 to 24 kg, and 1.5 years of age increased from 44.7 to 46.8 kg. Fertility varies from 106 to 109.3%, and milk yield from 33.8 to 44.2 l. The animals are medium wool productivity - 2.9 kg, with average length - 12.7 cm and predominant affection 56th and 58th quality brown up to black and gray and drab-colored wool. Correlations between signs are low, indicating that selection must be conducted on each attribute separately. The complex of valuable properties of sheep Karnobat local breed requires it to be maintained by
gene pool.
