INFLUENCE OF POLYBACTERIAL IMMUNOMODULATOR ON THE CONCENTRATION OF SERUM LYSOZYME IN NEWBORN CALVES
R. Karakolev
Резюме: Lysozyme content in calf blood serum during the first month post birth is studied. The test group animals were immunized orally with polybacterial immunomodulator in the first ten days post birth. The lysozyme content in the blood serum of the test and the control group calves was determined between the 5th and the 30th day of their life. After the age of 8 days, in animals that have been administered the immunomodulator, an increase in lysozyme serum concentrations is observed, in comparison with the control group. This increase is permanent and is established during the entire first month of the calves’ life. The administration of polybacterial immunomodulator in the first 10 days post birth leads to an increase in the non-specific humoral defence (serum lysozyme) of the newborn calves’ organism.
