DISSEMINATION OF THE VIRAL AND BACTERIAL INFECTIONS IN AQUACULTURE AND ANALYSIS OF EPIZOOTIC SITUATION IN BULGARIA
V. Chikova
Резюме: A specialized system for registration of freshwater fish producers in accordance with the new Directive 2006/88/EC will be established soon in our country. Bulgarian Food safety Agency, Department of Health Animal Control and National reference laboratory for fish and molluscs diseases carried out the official programme for control of viral fish diseases.
The surveillance programme of viral diseases includes general regulations concerning clinical health inspections with criteria for sampling and specific regulations for prevention, control and eradication in accordance with the requirements of the European legislation. The level of surveillance will be related both to the recognized health status and to the risk of contracting and spreading of diseases into/out of the farm or farming area.
VHS is the most important viral diseases occurred in our trout farms. The first isolation of Viral haemorrhagic septicaemia virus was done in December 2007. There were also outbreaks of Viral haemor¬rhagic septicaemia in farmed rainbow trout in March 2008 and in November 2008. IPN first emerged as a serious problem in Bulgaria during the last three year, when virus was detected in four trout farms. The epidemiological update on the current health situation showed that Yersiniosis (Y.ruckeri), Bacterial kidney disease (Renibacterium salmoninarum) and Aeromonosis (Aeromonas salmonicida) being the main problems in different trout farming regions. Based on the information received, it appears that our country is IHN and KHV free. First case of Spring viraemia of carp (SVC) was diagnosed in 2010 in one carp farm. The most important bacterial diseases encountered in carp farms are Erythrodermatitis – motil aeromonads mainly A. hydrophilla and Ps. fluorescens.
